We supply you with everything you need to paint your masterpiece including an apron, paints and canvas.
3. Paint & Party!

Where did Whimsy begin?
Whimsy Paint and Sip Art Studio began in Erie Colorado in 2010! Whimsy then moved to Westminster – The Orchard Town Center- in 2013 and we have been here ever since! We are a local, women powered business and we are happy to be here growing art in our community! Whimsy is a small local business and is not affiliated with any other studio.
Who owns Whimsy Paint and Sip at the Orchard Town Center?
Whimsy Paint And Sip is proudly owned by Lindsey Bell and Kristiana Miller!
Where does all the artwork come from?
Whimsy’s talented team of artists makes ALL of the original artworks in house!
What if I’ve never painted before?
No worries! You don’t need any art experience to enjoy painting with us. The artist will guide you step by step through the entire process. You’ll leave with a finished piece of art that YOU have created! Our classes are great for novice or experienced painters alike. We believe that it’s more about having fun than being perfect.
When should I arrive?
Plan to arrive 20-30 minutes early to settle in, get a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere. Late arrivals disrupt the entire class, so if you think you will be more than 15 minutes late, you’ll probably want to reschedule. We want everyone to have a fun night out, so please be considerate of your fellow artists by arriving in a timely manner. Thank you!
What should I wear?
Speaking of a fun night, please don’t wear or bring valuable clothes, shoes or handbags. Although we provide aprons, and we use water-based acrylic, when paint dries, it does not come out of clothing, canvas or leather. Paint splashes and drips – please plan accordingly!
Do you have gift certificates?
We have them! If you would like to purchase a gift certificate for painting classes, please visit our Gift Certificate Page or drop by the studio and a Whimsy Team Artist will get you taken care of! Please note Whimsy Paint And Sip is not affiliated with any other studio, so gift certificates purchased elsewhere do not transfer. Thank you!
How much does it cost?
The majority of the painting classes are $40 per person. Specialty classes range between $45 – $55.
Should I tip?
We love when our customers are feeling a little “tipsy“! We work hard to earn your gratitude!
Do you offer coupons or discounts?
Sign up for our NEWSLETTER to stay up to date on all of our specials, coupons, and promotional codes. These can only be used for online reservations. Some restrictions apply.
What if I want to just watch my friend/child paint and only hang out?
Every seat has an easel and canvas and has a painting class fee, why not just paint! If you stay, you pay. You’ll be glad you did!
How do I Book a Class?
It’s easy! Click on the calendar tab or any of the “Class Calendar” buttons from either your computer or mobile phone. Choose the date for the class you’d like to attend, and complete the simple reservation form. You will get an email confirmation and an opportunity to share your RSVP with your friends so they can join you for a fun night out! You will also get an email reminder before your scheduled class.
Can I cancel or reschedule a class?
Whimsy does not offer refunds, but we are happy to reschedule your reservation for another class. If you must reschedule, please do so one full day (24 hours) prior to your scheduled class. This will give us time to sell your seat to someone else or offer it to someone who is on our waiting list. Gift certificates or account credit can only be used towards painting events and cannot be used for bar credit. Thank you for your consideration!
I’m planning for a large group to come in for a class. How do we register?
Large groups of 20 or more receive a $5 discount per seat price when booking seats for a regularly-scheduled class. Discounts only apply when booking as a group, so typically one person will register and pay for the whole group. If each person registers separately to the same class they can add a note of the party name and we will be happy to seat you together! The more the merrier! TIP: Make sure everyone registers early so they don’t get put on a waitlist. Maximum occupancy is 50 seats and you must pay to reserve your spot ahead of time.
We registered separately. Can we sit together?
We do not assign seating, but we do provide “save this seat” signs for the first person in your party who checks in. Arrive early with plenty of time to get settled in your seat and order a drink. P.S. We want to make sure you have a great night no matter who you sit next to! You’ll make a beautiful painting and maybe a new friend or two!
Does Whimsy Offer Private Parties?
We have several options if you would like to reserve a private party: 1. Book a Party (during Open Studio hours), 2. Book the Studio (during regularly-scheduled class times, surcharges apply) or, 3. Book Whimsy on Wheels where we bring the party to you! Just give us a call and we’ll be happy to find a time for you and your friends, family or co-workers!
Can children register for a painting class with me?
Yes! Children ages 6+ are warmly welcomed to our Open Studio hours, or our 10:30am or 2:30pm classes.
Regular evening classes are ages 14+. This is an adult’s night out, so please, no infants or young children.
Can I drop off my Kids?
Ages 6+ welcome. Participating adult is recommended to accompany children under 10. A Liability Waiver must be signed at checkin and initialed at checkout if minors under the age of 14 are left unaccompanied.
There is no canvas sharing: One canvas, one artist.
Can I just “sip” and hang out while I watch my friend/child paint?
Every seat has an easel, a canvas, and a painting class fee, why not just paint? You’ll be glad you did! You’re welcome to check in on kids and family, order a drink and snack from our bar, but we ask that you please do not to hinder the creativity of our painting guests and instructors.
Alternatively, feel free to enjoy the beautiful shops and services at the Orchard Mall while your friends and family paint and sip at Whimsy Orchard. Each class lasts about 2.5 hours.
Do I have to paint the painting for the night or can I go rogue?
You may paint whatever you wish and feel free to change your color palette! YOU are the artist… Follow your creative heart! We are here to help you!
What if I don’t finish my painting?
You WILL! It’s our job to guide you through the process. But if you don’t, you may come in during Open Studio (at no extra charge) to finish. Check with us before the evening is over.
What if I’m unhappy with my painting?
We hope that you have enjoyed the ‘experience’ of painting as much as you enjoy your very own painting, but if you don’t like it, maybe someone else will! Give it as a gift! Or repaint it durning an open studio free of charge! It’s yours, you may do whatever you like with it! You may even want to donate it to a fundraising event!
How long does it take to dry? How do I transport it?
Your painting will feel dry to the touch after about 10 minutes. We have hair dryers to help with drying time. After it’s dry to the touch, you can carefully handle it and transport it face up in your car trunk.
Can I bring my own art supplies?
Absolutely! You may bring any art supplies you’d like – within reason; no giant canvases, or welding equipment! You will still be responsible for the class fee. You may want to check out our ‘Open Studio’ where you can paint at your convenience. It is offered every weekday for only $35.
Can I BYOB?
BYOB is illegal in Colorado! No outside liquids can be brought into the studio due to State Liquor laws. But you can buy a wide variety of OUR liquids: Delicious beer, wine, coffee & tea, sodas, sparkling waters and more. Thank you for your cooperation.
What is there to eat?
You’re welcome to bring prepared foods to enjoy at the studio! Check out our selection of snacks and sweets available at the bar. We are happy to set up an extra table for private parties wishing to serve a cake. Just let us know in advance. No candles, please.
Are there restaurants nearby?
There are several great eateries throughout the Orchard Town Center Mall. Please order food in from one of our neighbor restaurants for an EXTRA fun night of dinner, drinks, and art!
