Okay, now we are beginning to feel it. Despite the unexpected wet snow this week and an occasional cold breeze, I really feel like this time it’s safe to say we’ve made it over the hump and spring is upon us. Grass is greening up, little buds bloom on the trees, chocolate bunnies are on the shelves at every major supermarket. Not sure if that last part was really related, maybe more just my subconscious desire for Cadbury Eggs popping into the blog for a moment.
Just because we are past the holidays doesn’t mean special occasions stop happening during spring. This is wedding season, baby season, Thank Goodness It’s Finally Warm Day (a new national holiday), birthdays, just TONS of festivities that send us out to the store trying to find something really thoughtful for our celebrating loved ones.
I personally find that task really hard, which is why you can usually find me making my gifts. They are more personal and it’s easier to custom fit it to their desires! These are also, hands-down, my favorite gifts to receive!
You’ve heard me say it before and I will say it again, Whimsy is the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone; you can get some time in with people you love during a painting event or open studio, while creating a gift for someone special who has a birthday coming up! In this busy world, killing two birds with one stone is pretty priceless!
In an even bigger rush? Grab a gift card so they can create their own wall art! It makes an awfully cute addition to an Easter basket filled with Peeps and all of their other festive friends.
See you next week, you generous little artists, you!

With the first day of spring nearly a week away, your Whimsy artists have
been flinging the studio doors open to let in that warm breeze and trading
out the warm and fuzzy drinks for refreshing, flavored Xing Teas.
We are packing away the snowy paintings and unearthing marvelous, colorful
floral paintings little by little wiping away the last traces of cold breeze
and slippery pavement in preparation for spring!
While we must acknowledge that yes, this is Colorado and we are likely in
for a few more late season flurries, we are totally entitled to feel more
springy on the inside! If you believe in this sort of thing it’s entirely
possible to scare the snow away because we are so gosh darn sunshiny in our
Whether we have to weather the weather or we get insanely lucky and get to
pull out shorts and keep them on, one thing is for certain; Spring Break
preparations have sprung! The kiddos are excited while the parents are
trepidatious about how to keep these excited little kiddos active without
Well, then, how fortuitous that you are reading the Whimsy Blog this week,
because we have the perfect solution, and we like to call them Family Day,
Kids Club and Teen Club.
Art is really the best way to keep your small humans stimulated over spring
break and spades better than playing video games all week!
In preparation for Spring Break, we have added a number of fun and kid
friendly events to the calendar between the dates of Monday, March 23rd and
Friday, March 27th!
We are offering Teen Club in addition to Kids Club for this upcoming and
very special week! These are kids/teens only events, but we think it’s
extra-fun when little friends get together for a really fun time! Ages for
Kids Club are 7-15, Teen Club ages 12-18.
If you’re getting a little time off for their break and want some groundwork
to help you create your painting, we are also offering Family Events
throughout the week for families aged 7 and up.
We recommend taking a peek at our calendar to get inspired, and then book
some fun activities for you and your littles before classes are full! Spring
break is about fun and we want to be a part of it!
